A Happy Ending

Have you ever adopted a pet from Animal Aide? Are you and your new family member happy? Does he/she do cute things or sleep with you? Well, we at Animal Aide, would love to hear all about it. One of the things that keeps us doing what we do is hearing about Happy Endings for our cats and dogs. Skitz (now Boo) June 2006

Abner was afraid of his own shadow -now cautious and loving and Boo intoduced a whole new challenge as the two fought feriously for 3 months, and now lie together and wrestle playfully. So now we’ve emailed Lois in the hopes of finding a small adult dog – so who knows???

The initial challenges were well worth it for the family and our pets. Deb and family

While I can’t include a photo since I don’t have any (picture was taken while Achilles was at Animal Aide), I can disclose some information about how Felix [ex-Achilles] is doing. Right now he’s sleeping under the table, but since I adopted him, he has grown quite fond of my family, and us him. He’s also gotten quite well accustomed to being with my dog, and they often play together. He seems quite content with his surroundings, often times following me around and sitting in my lap while I relax. He certainly enjoys the attention we give him, and he even sleeps on my bed at night. I am very happy with him, and couldn’t have asked for a more calm pet, especially a cat! He even allows you to scratch his belly and carry him around. I’m glad we got him.

I was adopted from the Animal Aide center in February of 2005. Daddy was just going to foster me for awhile because I was all depressed and had most of my fur chewed out but I had his number because I had daddy hooked from the day he first saw me. I am such a sweet little girl. It worked because after a few days I was able to convince my new daddy and mommy to adopt me. They couldn’t resist my cute look. I am happy in my new home with my room mate Scrapper. We sometimes have a dispute but don’t we all. We are all one big happy family. I am glad mommy chose me over one of the other cats. Mommy had the final pick.

I am sorry it took sooo long to get back to you about Al. Al has become the eccentric member of our family, his crazy antics in the middle of the afternoon (he does the freaky high speed runaround thing) or the fact that he has to be the most affectionate cat I have ever met, make it hard to pick out what is the best part of him. You should see the way he stands on his back legs like a squirrel and just looks out the window. I have never ever seen a cat do that before. The way he interacts with Jamie and Julia probably is what has made him the purr..fect addition to our house.

Hi Donna,

I recently adopted my cat Alfie, from PetSmart. I could not turn him down. Alfie reminds me of a cat I had when I was a child. When I got to hold him for the very first time in the adoption centre it was love at first site! Alfie is a very calm, friendly, and all around a loveable cat. Alfie is the cat I have always dreamed of having. Personality wise, He is quite the character. I have two young children my oldest only being 2yrs old. He became my kids companion before he even thought about being mine. When my son goes to visit family, Alfie will not leave his room. Alfie is now a permanent member of my Family. Alfie is an amazing cat and the only thing I can think of to describe him would be, Perfect.

Sorry it’s so late, but better late than never, right?

We adopted Anjel–now Mia–a couple of days after Christmas, 2008. She immediately greeted her new home with great curiosity, and her new family with cuddles and kisses. She was very excited to meet her new brother, Mikhail, but he was a little less than enthusiastic about a newcomer treading on his territory. They’re still not quite the best of friends and get into fights now and then, but when we hear them chasing each other all around the house, we know they’re having fun. Mia has seemingly limitless energy and is constantly running around, playing with toys, or demanding our attention. It’s strange to see her asleep! No matter what she’s doing, as soon as I leave the room she’s right at my heels to follow wherever I go; and all you have to do is look in her direction, and she starts purring madly. Mia is one of the most loving cats I’ve ever known and we’re so happy to have her as a part of our family!

Happy New Year to everyone at Animalaide,

My best Christmas present arrived a month early when I adopted Annabell on Nov 24/09. To me, she was a gift from Heaven. I don’t have a digital camera to include a picture however she is looking “real good”. (This picture was taken at Animal Aide)

I am proud to say that even though she was very nervous in the beginning, she has made remarkable progress in this area. I was able to recognize weekly & even sometimes daily progress in the bonding that has taken place between Annabell & myself. With some praying as well, I was believing that she would quickly become a lap cat & my prayers have been answered. She now rubs up against my legs for which I have to be careful as I’m not used to have a cat sitting at my feet while doing dishes. A couple of times, I almost tripped over her which of course sent her running but she always comes back.

I have to say I’m so glad that I chose Annabell as I love her colouring & her sweet & lovable disposition. She has the most beautiful green eyes that are interesting. When she sits in the dark, her eyes glow a bright green color.

She is very affectionate and loves it when I rub under her neck & all over her head. She is a perfect match for me and amazingly when I saw her I knew she was my cat, even though I took a look at others as well. Coincidence or not, in my family tree book, I had two relatives with the same name Anna & my grandmothers middle name was Bell.

Annabell has brought nothing short of joy & laughter into my home as I watch her chase a little ball she likes & a small plastic spinning top that she bats around & carries in her mouth from one place to another. She is very smart & playful & very curious about things.

To end, I feel very blessed to be able to have Annabell as a companion & I know we will have many happy times together.

Donna,

I have been meaning to do this for some time now. I can send some other photos when I get home, But here is one to start.
We re-named Annabelle to Waffles. Waffles is a very active kitten, who loves to climb. She has become very fascinated with our fish and pet frog…she sits and watches them all day. She loves to hide under the bed and jump out at us. We are so much happier with her in our life; she is constantly making us smile. A beautiful cat who amazes us more each day!

I would love to see photos of her mother and siblings. She would like to see them, I’m sure. I have attached some photos from the first day we got her and some recent ones. Waffles loves climbing into boxes, so I have attached some of her in a shoe box taken a couple of weeks ago. She is such a beautiful cat and growing so fast. Doesn’t like the camera too much though. lol. Thank you for contacting us!
