Some people may say that I am older. I prefer to think of myself as ……experienced. However, I have ….experienced a little too much lately. Recently, I was found living outside and was taken to the pound and then on Feb. 9, 2010, I was brought to Animal Aide. I am a mere shadow of my former self. I hate to admit it, but I am undergoing a wee bit of fur loss on my behind, but if you look at me from the front, you wouldn’t even notice. They tell me that I am 8 years old but I STILL prefer to think of myself as experienced…it just sounds better. I would be eternally grateful to the person who takes me home. Bourbon – Adotped in September 2010

Bourbon was picked up at the City pound and delivered safely to Animal Aide July 14, 2010. You always read in the papers that you should handle your Bourbon responsibly and safely. No worries!!!! Bourbon is declawed. Bourbon is very cuddly and can be held for hours, he even makes all the appropriate noises that go along with a pleasurable experience. Buddy – Adopted in September 2010

Buddy came to Animal Aide June 26, 2010 all by himself. We have many brown tabbies and a few orange tabbies but very few silver tabbies. Buddy is one of those. Buddy has been neutered and is all ready to go to his forever indoor home. Buddy is interested in finding that special place where he will be treasured and treated like a king. Nights curled up at your feet in your bed (of course) are what Buddy is looking for. Buddy would also appreciate someone who will entertain him and play with him. When I think about China, I think of an exotic, beautiful place and this sweet four year old girl has only enhanced that image for me. China arrived at Animal Aide on November 27, 2009, and has already endeared herself to all of us. China can be held and has a very sleek black coat with a patch of white just under her chin. China is friendly, has very clear green eyes and is curious about everything around her. We haven’t seen any signs that she dislikes other cats and would likely do well with other cats and kids in the household. It never fails!!! Every time I take someone on a tour to see all the cats that are available for adoption, they remark on the high number of black cats in our care. I tell them that the black ones tend to remain longer, while the tabbies, calicos and torties come and go quickly, sometimes within days of their arrival. We have lovely black cats who have been with us for over a year after having grown up in a cage. Most people, like me, don’t understand why the black ones stay but they don’t seem to take them either. My black cat is actually not black but a very deep brown which is very noticeable in the sunshine. So, if you come to visit us at the shelter, please look at the black ones with an open mind. You should be looking for that special connection in every cat in the shelter; after all, they will be with you for a very long time. Which brings me to one of newest arrivals….Cinder. Cinder is quite young approximately 8 months old. She arrived May 7, 2010. Cinder is a lovable armful who just wants a good home. Don’t let her languish here for a year and a half like Poppy, Q-tip and Jewel. Here’s a thought….adopt Cinder along with Poppy, Q-tip or Jewel. Isn’t it funny how one name can bring to mind certain things that you haven’t thought about for years? When I saw cute little 4 month old Gene in his cage last Saturday, all I could think of was Gene, Gene, The Dancing Machine. For those of you who are too young to remember, Gene Gene was a member of the famous Gong Show (you can google if you want a real trip down memory lane). Our Gene can’t dance yet but I’m sure he would dance for joy if he found a fabulous home with you!!! Like I said, Gene is 4 months old and was rescued from the pound July 6, 2010. Gus………what to say about Gus. Well……he’s cute, he’s 4-5 months old, neutered and is full of the exuberance of youth. Gus is either very active or catatonic; there is not much in between. Gus will need a patient person to help him realize that some things are not allowed and that manners are very important in life. Saying “boys will be boys” just doesn’t fly anymore. They CAN be taught!!! Gus was rescued June 10, 2010 and makes his presence known every day. Gus has huge potential for the right person.
