Help us celebrate March as Black Cat Month at Animal Aide. Come see our cats/kittens at PetSmart, Wellington for March 2010

At Animal Aide, we thrive on finding new, permanent homes for our animals. Adopting a stray animal can be one of the most important decisions a person can make. Cats and dogs live long lives and they are a commitment you must be prepared to make. Adopting a cat or dog has brought many people a happiness they never knew before and knowing that you have given a home to a previously unwanted animal is very rewarding. The care we give at Animal Aide reminds us daily how easy it is to become personally attached to these animals. Some are here at Animal Aide such a short time, but others are with us long enough to really become a part of us.

This is one such cat. Meet ‘our’ Magic!

magic-7.jpgThis handsome man with the droopy left ear is Magic. Magic was adopted from Animal Aide on August 14, 2005, after being with us for two years. Magic started out a very shy cat who seldom lifted his head so we could see his sweet eyes. Our dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly with Magic to gain his trust. We eventually were able to allow him the freedom to roam throughout our facility where he gained an appreciation for the volunteers and a confidence he never knew he had. Over time, Magic realized that the most comfortable place to lay was on a human lap. Everytime we sat and patted our laps, Magic would race to us and jump up. He ended up loving attention, being cuddled and held. Magic became a very beloved cat at Animal Aide and it was with mixed feelings that we watched him leave our facility on his way to his permanent home. We received a beautiful letter from his new mom and dad, who call Magic – The Greatest Cat in the World!  This is one boy who will not soon be forgotten by any who knew him!
