Joy at Home 2-28-10We have renamed Joy “Lilly” and we are extremely happy with her. She is in love with our two older male cats, they protect her from each other when one male gets too feisty with her. Both males are fixed and we are looking into getting Lilly fixed within the next few months. She is about 7 months old now and she is still tiny, her colours becoming more vibrant every day. She is a joy in our life and makes us smile ever day. Thank you so much!

Pansy 5-2-09 7

I don’t know where you came from before you showed up at the pound and were brought to us. I didn’t know at the time that you would become a full-time member of my household. I didn’t know that you and your adorable quirks would worm your way into my heart so deeply. I also didn’t know how quickly you would adjust and make yourself at home. I do know that long before we met you, someone loved you dearly because you would never have lived into your 20’s otherwise. I met you on April 22, 2009, and by September 23, 2009, you were in my home. We all knew that the odds of such an old cat getting adopted were slim; in fact, there was a loving war with a couple of us volunteers as to would get to bring you home and I won. I also know that whoever had you for most of your life gave you a lot of people food. If I walked away from a bowl of food, you weren’t just eating it, your front paws and sometimes your back paws too would be in it while you ate! If I walked away from a drink, your face would be in it when I returned. And when I was eating from a bag of chips, you were there, wanting one for each one I ate. You were spunky and fun and beautiful. You were feisty and energetic and way too skinny, and in the end – you were diabetic, had a possibly cancerous lump on the back of your head and lost your kidney function. It was still hard to let you go because even in such a short period of time, you were a huge part of my family. It was just shy of six months, on February 25, 2010, when I had to say goodbye to you. I will always remember you, I will always love you and I will never eat chips again without thinking of you and wishing you were still here to share them with me.
