Meadow arrived at Animal Aide on July 11, 2008 at the age of 8 weeks. She was surrounded by 6 siblings (all adopted) and she was very shy. Meadow would often hiss as quick as look at you and that has stopped her from being adopted. At the end of November 2009, I couldn’t stand to see her sit in a cage one more day so I brought her home to foster. I wanted to see how well she would adapt to being in a home environment, how she would get along with my own cats and how well she would learn the ways of being free instead of caged. I am happy to tell you that Meadow was a great student. She still feels safer when there is an open cage in one room that she can go into when she wants to and leave whenever she wants to. Meadow has taught me the best way to hold her so she feels safe and comfortable and she rewards me by letting me hold her for longer and longer periods of time before she struggles to get down. Meadow is a very beautiful dark calico with a patch of white under her chin, white paws on all four feet and a gorgeous white tummy. Meadow is by far one of the most beautiful calicos I have ever seen. Although Meadow has spent most of her life thus far in a cage, she is a very petite girl. Meadow quickly learned what cat toys were fun to play with and she will play for hours. Meadow has lots of energy and thoroughly enjoys racing around, enjoying the freedom that she never had before. Meadow’s
favourite toy is something everyone already has – the toilet. She can amuse herself for hours with her back feet on the seat, her two front paws totally immersed. One front paw is usually patting at the water until it swirls and then she drinks the water as it swirls. It is so cute, I can watch her for long periods doing just that. It’s the kind of thing you could make millions on by sending in the video to one of those tv shows that likes funny videos. She may even learn to flush, too. Meadow is back at Animal Aide now and is ready for a home of her own. She is still a little shy and would do best in a home with no dogs or young kids, but she adores other cats. If you can provide this sweetheart with a quiet home, a feline companion or two, you will have fulfilled her dream.
