gidget.jpgGidget has been with me for close to 3 years now.  This is her favorite place to be, in my bathroom sink, especially while I am taking a shower.  Gidget has an extra toe on her paw, which makes her feet look like she has a tiny pair of oven mitts on.  She loves to be chased and have her belly scratched.  At night –it’s under my covers she crawls.  Gidget loves to bury herself in any blanket, and with great effort, makes a suitable bed for herself to rest for a few hours.  She blended in so well with my other cats, and has made herself quite at home here.  Gidget has been a great addition to this family.

Gidget was adopted in 2004.

baby-lionel

Lionel originally came to Animal Aide as a newborn who was full of fleas and not expected to live. He had a lion-shaped face and huge feet with extra toes. Everyone fell in love with him on sight and worked tirelessly to rid him of the fleas and keep him alive. I met him when he was six months old and I, too, fell under his numerous charms. After three months, I adopted him and brought him home. That was six and a half years ago. I can’t imagine my life without him. Through these years, I have fostered more than 40 shy or scared cats and I couldn’t do that without Lionel’s help – he is relentless in his love and concern for these cats. I have many pictures of Lionel laying down with his arms wrapped around my fosters, giving them comfort, helping them to feel safe and gain the confidence they need to become loving pets.

Lionel and Tyrone 9-23-07 5Lionel is a sweetheart but sadly, he is losing his sight. The vet believes it is due to the shape of his face obstructing his sight. Lionel is a happy boy, who still plays, enjoys my other cats and enjoys the toys that make noise or don’t move so he can play without losing them. One of his favourite things is a bag that was made of crinkle paper and the balls with the same crinkle paper on them. Lionel trusts me completely and thinks that anything I do, he should be able to do as well, including eating chips or cheese. Lionel likes cheese so much he will stand on his hind legs and beg like a dog to get it. I am happy to report that even though Lionel was a very sickly kitten, he has not been sick a single day since coming to live with me. He is one of the most amazing cats Lionel 7-29-09 3I have ever met.
